With innovative technologies on the rise and the extensive use of Zoom and other online meeting platforms in recent years like Microsoft Teams, the event industry has followed suit and virtual events are up and coming. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a large shift from hosting in person conferences, events, and meetings, to finding ways to incorporate these things online.

The event industry is one that can be costly when it comes to the use of materials whether this has to do with catering costs, venue costs, badges for attendees, as well as other add ons. It can be easy to view this as being costly financially, but this is a double-edged sword and can be costly for the environment as well. In recent years, the Green Revolution has become a huge focus for today’s population. The Green Revolution refers to a movement that strives to help cut down on carbon emissions, cut down on overall waste, as well as help to better the planet’s health.

Often, colleges and universities host day and overnight sport and youth camps. This is a great opportunity for children and young athletes to improve their athletic abilities and skills, work on team building, and learn leadership skills. These are great places to host camps like these because they are large enough to provide the space to host a lot of students. They have top-notch facilities including sports complexes, gymnasiums, swimming pools, and athletic fields, and expert coaches and staff.

Colleges and Universities host many events from conferences to banquets to expos and even sports and other youth camps. These events often include the need for catering, technology, and housing overnight guests. All these moving parts often require multiple different departments to be connected and aware of what is happening at any second. However, most times these departments use different applications.  

The annual ACCED-I conference is quickly approaching and will be held in Providence, Rhode Island from March 10th to March 13th. The conference provides a forum for educational institutions to learn more about the conference and events industry.
